Introduction

Family-run scaffolding company based in Millom, serving homeowners, builders and contractors across South Cumbria and the Lake District.

Total Access Scaffolding is a Millom-based scaffolding company founded and run by James Spiers. We provide professional scaffolding solutions for domestic and commercial projects throughout South Cumbria, the Furness Peninsula and the wider Lake District — from straightforward roof access jobs to complex heritage restorations and insurance reinstatements.

We are a small, hands-on team. When you call us, you speak to James directly. When we arrive on site, it is our own qualified scaffolders carrying out the work — not subcontractors. That means consistent standards, clear communication, and a level of personal accountability that larger operations simply cannot match.

Covering South Cumbria, the Lake District and Beyond

We are based in Millom and operate across the full South Cumbria and Lake District region — including Barrow-in-Furness, Ulverston, Dalton, Grange-over-Sands, Kendal, Windermere, Whitehaven, Workington, Keswick, Penrith and Lancaster. No job is too remote. We regularly work on properties in rural valleys, coastal villages and fell-side hamlets where access and logistics require genuine local knowledge.

All Aspects of Scaffolding — Domestic, Commercial and Specialist

We cover all aspects of domestic and commercial scaffolding: independent and birdcage systems, scaffold towers, chimney stacks, canopy and bridging structures, temporary staging, roof work, new build, renovation, heritage and listed buildings, insurance reinstatement, and 24-hour emergency response. If a project needs safe, compliant access at height, we can provide it.

Safety is Non-Negotiable

All our scaffold structures comply with the Working at Height Regulations 2005, BS EN 12811, and TG20:21. We carry full public liability insurance and maintain all required documentation. Every structure is inspected on erection and at regular intervals throughout the hire period. We handle permit applications with the relevant highway authority where required.

Whether it's the middle of the night, a weekend, or a bank holiday, our team is ready to respond quickly to make your site safe and secure.
