Never attempt to move a 13ft scaffold tower with operatives or materials on the platform — this is a common cause of scaffold tower accidents. At 4.0 metres platform height the consequences of incorrect assembly are severe. A self-assembly hire kit relies on the user correctly following the assembly manual without scaffolding training. A CISRS-erected tower is assembled by a qualified scaffolder who assesses the specific site conditions, selects the correct stabiliser configuration, verifies the ground conditions and carries out a full safety inspection before handing the tower over. For CDM notifiable projects, insurance purposes and genuine compliance with the Working at Height Regulations 2005, a CISRS-erected and inspected tower is the correct standard.
Our 13ft scaffold towers are erected to a standard loading class of 2kN/m², accommodating one or two operatives plus their tools and lightweight materials. The platform should not be used for stockpiling heavy materials. If your job requires a higher loading capacity at this height, we will specify a reinforced platform and base arrangement rated to the higher load class you need.
